hi, i'm new here. i am mostly interested in building my own stomp boxes, and have done a couple: a treble booster and an ab box.
does anyone have a schematic for an abc box? it would have three switches one could stomp to divert the signal to any of 3 possible outputs, a, b, or c. led indicators would be cool. thanks in advance.

Re: abc box
Wed, November 30, 2005 - 5:08 AMor perhaps you are impatient and noone has an answer for you, bobby....................
I certainly don't but I"m eagerly awaiting
anyone else's reply.
Perhaps if noone does have such a schematic, you can figure out how to
do it yourself and report back to us on your efforts.
You get out of things what you put into them.
Hope you get your answer, either way. -

Re: abc box
Wed, November 30, 2005 - 10:37 AMthanks for the wisdom. i'll check around on geofex, etc.
i will report back if i find anything. since i'm new to this it's not clear how to wire something up with 3 switches, so that at any given time you step on one to activate a particular channel, turn off the other two. it's a more complex problem than ab boxes, which i have made, and which use a single switch. -

Re: abc box
Wed, November 30, 2005 - 1:11 PMYou know, I honestly don't know much about this subject because I have
solder-phobia but I think that the famous electronic music writer
Craig Anderton has a book out (at least available through a good library)
where he lays out tons of schematics for making your own pedals from scratch.
I would imagine that there would be something like that in there and I would really be into going up against my solder-phobia to try to make one because that would be a very cool thing to have for sound mangling. -

Wed, November 30, 2005 - 2:36 PMyeah i remember that book from the 80s. don't have a copy, tho.
making your own pedals is cool. i found schematics for a germainium treble booster (dallas rangemaster, brian may, etc.) on various websites (geofex, etc.) and made one that is a hybrid of those. i now use it in front of a tube screamer.
getting over my solderphobia allowed me to do basic work on guitar electronics, make my own cables, blah, blah, in addition to making stomp boxes. -

Re: abc box
Wed, November 30, 2005 - 3:04 PMi know..............it's a silly fear, seeing as I play numerous instruments, can fix anything on a drumset and am completely computer music literate but what are you gonna do.
I actually own two soldering irons with stations and I just got Reed Gazhals in credible circuit bending book.......(refer to the Circuit Bending Tribe for a discussion on that amazing book that was just released).
Good luck with the tri switch. -

Tue, August 1, 2006 - 2:33 PMHey.
I have recently gotten into building stompboxes too but I have been on the DIY stompbox forum for a while.
Check that one out:
If you use the search function you are bound to get a suitable thread and/or schematic

Wed, August 2, 2006 - 3:56 AMThere are some good links from there to other very useful sites including DIY Tube amps..... I'll have a go at that when I'm more capable
